The powder riding area we've chosen is in the mountains of western Tien-Shan (Ugam, Pskem and Chatkal ranges) just 100 km of Tashkent , at an altitude anywhere between 2,500m to 4,200. The area's vertical drop goes up to 2km, and the downhills are as long as up to 10km long.

Currypowder only employs local helicopter crews and expert mountain guides who understand both your safety and snow-riding needs. We use Russian-made Mi-8MTB helicopters for our programs. These helicopters have 2 powerful turbo-prop jet engines that allow it to do extreme flights in the mountains safely. The helicopter has a capacity of up to 16 persons including ski and snowboarding equipment. Our experienced crew have a length of service of 15+ years who know the mountains and its peculiarities very well. Our groups are led by local guides who know the conditions and state of snow better than anyone. Our helicopters are equipped with the necessary rescue transportation facilities, GPS systems and satellite phones.
Currypowder's bad weather program. As part of Currypowder's paramount obligation to offer you a safe heli-ski/boarding experience, our helicopters won't fly in bad weather as determined by both our mountain guides and helicopter crew. During these situations, you are more than welcome to ski/board via the 2 double-chair lifts and surface lifts available in both the local Chimgan and neighbouring Beldersay Snow Resorts. Your snow equipment. Guests are strongly advised to bring their own snow equipment. You will require an avalanche beeper (bring your own or hire them in Tashkent ) and a day backpack. We advise guests to bring adjustable clothing for any change in weather conditions. Gloves, warm hat, goggles, sunglasses, sun block cream should be an important part of your equipment. Do not forget your swimsuits too! Travel insurance. Like most adrenalin based sports, heli-skiing/boarding can also be dangerous. Travel insurance is obligatory and offered at a group discount from Real International. Currypowder ‘Snow & Vertical Guarantee'. If a technical hiccup or bad weather prohibits you in reaching your 25 vertical kms, we guarantee to refund you $55/km of un-carved vertical. We do have age restrictions. Currypowder's minimum age for all our heli-skiing/boarding packages is 18 years of age. Guests who are between 14-18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents. |
